The Paradise of birds
The Faroe Islands are a paradise for birds. Every summer, countless seabirds fly to these tiny islands to breed, and to rest along their migration routes; many species make their home here. I felt a “Hidden world”, such as I’ve never seen. I realized this small place was a paradise for the birds of the earth.
Overview
The Faroe Islands are a self-governing archipelago and part of the Kingdom of Denmark. It comprises 18 volcanic islands, between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean, connected by road tunnels, ferries, causeways and bridges. Hikers and birdwatchers are drawn to their mountains, valleys, grassy heathlands, and steep coastal cliffs, home to thousands of seabirds.
